Width. Chains under 1.5mm (cable, flat curb, popcorn, ball) are dainty and made for pendants and layering. 2mm to 3.5mm (rope, rolo, belcher) is the everyday middle. 4mm and up (rounded box, herringbone, Miami Cuban, mariner) looks bold on its own.

Yes. 14K gold is 58.5% pure gold, alloyed with other metals for strength, and our chains are stamped 585. The whole chain is gold alloy, not a coating over brass or silver, so there is no layer to wear off. Learn how to tell if gold is real.
How much does a 14K gold chain weigh?
It depends on width and length. At 18", our 1mm ball chain weighs about 2 g, a 2.15mm rope chain about 3.1 g and a 5mm rope chain about 12.5 g. Every product page lists the weight of each size.
What chain length should I choose?
18" is the most popular length for women and 20" to 22" for men. 16" sits at the collarbone. To layer, space your chains about 2" apart.
Can I wear a 14K gold chain every day?
Yes. 14K gold is durable enough for daily wear. Take it off to swim, work out or clean, since chlorine and harsh chemicals can dull the shine, and wipe it with warm water, mild soap and a soft cloth.
