About
Rolo chains in 14K gold
Rolo or belcher?
Both names describe a round-link chain, but ours differ in construction. The belcher chain is solid 14K gold, in 2mm, 2.8mm or 3.2mm, with bracelet lengths from 5.5" and necklace lengths up to 30". The rolo chain necklace (six widths, about 2.35 g to 10 g at 18") and the rolo bracelet (2.1mm to 4.85mm) are semi-hollow: 14K gold around a partly open core, lighter and more affordable at the same width. Compare them in solid vs hollow gold chains.
Wear it with a pendant
Round, even links let a pendant hang freely, so a rolo chain is an easy upgrade for a charm you already own. Browse 14K gold pendant necklaces or all 14K gold chains. See how rolo compares with other links in our gold chain types guide.
Frequently asked questions
What is a rolo chain?
A chain of round or slightly flattened circular links joined one to the next. In the UK it is usually called a belcher chain.
Is a rolo chain good for everyday wear?
Yes. The simple round links are sturdy, and every piece is 14K gold, stamped 585.
Is a rolo chain solid or hollow?
Our belcher chain is solid 14K gold all the way through. The rolo necklace and bracelet are semi-hollow, so they weigh less than a solid chain of the same width. Every piece is real 14K gold, never plated or filled.
Is a rolo chain unisex?
Yes. Thinner widths suit women and layering; the wider rolo and belcher widths are popular with men.
